Seriously now, I do not think you should be banned nor insulted for noting that "Hispanic people have a tremendous resemblance to Middle Eastern and North African people". That was a truthful comment, and one that no one should have taken as being racist in any way, shape or manner. Sometimes political correctness can be such a pain in the behind when trying to get a point across. In all honesty, I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between those groups of people myself. It's not that I'm racist, it's just that the eyes can only take in so much. :)I copied and pasted the names : )
My son in law's family is from India. He's mistaken for Hispanic and Sicilian, and has a back East accent, not to mention his build is on the smaller side of Refrigerator Perry. When he and my daughter are out, they occasionally get hard looks from Hispanics, speaking of racism.
No, it is very difficult to tell people apart, and before we had 9/11, who cared? Now we need to be more vigilant. That's not being a racist, it's covering your rear end.

No, it is very difficult to tell people apart, and before we had 9/11, who cared? Somewhere here on FR as I've been reading this OKlahoma bombing story there was a post that included a pic. There were a bunch of face shots and the capiton, which are illegal aliens and which are 9/11 hijackers. Other than Atta - I wasn't sure of any of the other 6 or 7 pictures. I leaned one way or the other on several but wasn't at all sure.

Sicily was, for several centuries, a province in the Islamic Caliphate. As such it was subject to immigration from throughout an empire that stretched from India to Morocco. Not surprising someone whose folks came from India might well look like others whose folks came from the same place Indian people came from.
Then there were the Portuguese colonies in India ~ there was a reverse flow from Europe to those places for several centuries.
