"Reason #1: Homeland Security needs to find his accomplices and the al-Qaeda cell (if any) behind this. They can't roll up this organization if the MSM is all over it. It's important not to panic the rats so badly that they flee the country."-NOT YOUR WORDS
I agree with your "Reason # 1". It's definitely looking like they've had this guy under surveillance for a while.YOUR WORDS

Tinfoil hat or not, I think the FBI put a lid on this because they are still in the process of an investigation/arrests.YOUR WORDS
YOUR WORDS are what P'd me O!
LOL!

Go ahead, parse my/your statements and set up inane strawman debate techniques in lieu of "legitimate arguments". ROTFLMAO!

The press is lying.
The Government is lying.

Anyone who notices that both are lying about the same subject at the same time is "wearing tinfoil hats", which BTW, is probably just as useful an observation as the one a few decades ago, when people asked why they should bother to "bend over and place their heads firmly between their knees" in the event that a nuclear missile attack was imminent.

The major difference is that you or I might be able to stop a jihadist suicide bomber by our own individual actions.

If the government and the MSM keeps blowing sunshine up our derrieres 24/7, some people just might get the erroneous impression that they are not in any danger at all of getting blown up when attending a crowded sports event.

So yes, I am POd at you, and people like you, who try to downplay the necessity of individual situational awareness under heightened threat conditions.

"The press is lying. The Government is lying."

I never stated that the press is lying. I inferred that the Government may be withholding information from the press due to an ongoing investigation.

"The major difference is that you or I might be able to stop a jihadist suicide bomber by our own individual actions."

I'm in agreement with you on this point.

"So yes, I am POd at you, and people like you, who try to downplay the necessity of individual situational awareness under heightened threat conditions"

This is where there seems to be a misunderstanding. I have never attempted to downplay individual situational awareness. For that matter, nothing in my post even remotely touched on that subject. Again, my post was simply conjecture on perhaps why most of America hasn't heard about this incident.

I believe we are both on the "same page".
