Why is this not the subject of every newscast, 24 hours per day?

Put yourself in the authorities role. These jerks are trying to spread terror among the public in the US.

This was clearly such an attempt. To you give them a victory they did not get by hyping this up and like the terrorist spreading terror in the US? Or do you quietly try to go about stopping more such events?

I am not sure I know the answer. I know the incident on the Greyhound bus and the kid flying the small plane into the building in Tampa afer 911 were people sympathetic to al Qaeda. I think the government took the view, they were not members and lets not spread terror for the terrorist and change the American way of life.

What should be done this time? I bet had this worked al Qaeda would be claiming credit. Should the authorities do al Qaeda's job for them and scare the public out of going to college football games? Should they talk down the entire US economy and scare people out of living the American way of life like the terrorist want?

I would certainly favor handling this quietly if I knew the government was handling things like this rather than holding more diversity training session. But I think it is a tough call.

I like your answer. I was just trying to form something similar myself. But, I honestly can't imagine authorities having any control over the MSM, so that is the baffling part. And I'm not buying it's all about hush hush and send the troops home, either. I think these looney MSM folks still just don't get the threat, and don't see the relevance. (Isolated case, dumb kid, bla bla).
They don't think like us; we see the evil right away.

"Why is this not the subject of every newscast, 24 hours per day?"

Maybe because by not giving the terrorists credit, they
make it useless for the terrorists to commmit acts of terror.
Maybe we are safer that way. (Why shoot down an airliner,
if no one will ever learn it was anything but an accident?)

But, this silence does strain the trust the people put in the government and in the media.
