I wanted him to fight the fight even if that meant a loss.

What a silly notion. Fight, even if you know you're going to lose.

Bush doesn't do that, he has never done that, and will never do that.

Those of you who just want a pissin' contest don't seem to realize that the rest of the country is sick of that stuff. That's why the Dems have lost ground in every election since 1998.

Bush is supposed to indulge your schoolboy fantasies, even if that means O'Connor sits on the SC for another term.

BTW, the first poll I've seen, on FOXNEWS, says that 58% of the country supports Miers nomination. That number will only go up.

You boys are beat.

SINKSPUR: "Bush doesn't do that, he has never done that, and will never do that."

You got that right. Bush has shown he has no taste for the kind of power politics you need in Washington. As a result, he's now perceived both by the Dems and the RINOs (especially some of those who want his job) as wounded, weak, and a lame duck. Face it, he's finished politically. Why just tonight on Fox, they said he's focused like a laser on getting the one-quarter trillion (that's $250 billion) to satisfy the demands of the LA politicians. For a Prez who has yet to veto his first spending bill, coming up with that kind of loot without adding even more to the deficit will require, well...something he hasn't got. It's clear that Bush and his team are way behind the political cycle.

And about that old line you always trot out that the country is tired of as you say a "pissin' contest," you know it is getting thread bare. People are looking for a leader, not a loser--someone who is willing to confront his known enemies. Bush instead rolls over. Why even Bill Clinton is now down in NO rubbing Bush's nose in the loser mud there. And why not--you will recall that as far as the public is concerned (you do recall all the MSM headlines don't you) Bush accepted all the blame for Katrina.

SINKSPUR: "Bush is supposed to indulge your schoolboy fantasies, even if that means O'Connor sits on the SC for another term."

My "schoolboy fantasies" wow, what rhetoric. You really know how to argue a point. Why don't you just tell me you accept Bush's word that Harriet is the best possible pick for the SCOTUS in the US, huh? I thought you'd be able to mount a serious defense of this Bush crony, but you disappoint me. On the other hand, you could point me to hard evidence to show that Harriet will be better than O'Connor.
