I, too, have my questions, but this assault from the rightwing pundits is actually turning me off.

Same here. Coulter seems particularly strident about Miers nomination. We haven't even gotten to 'advice and consent' and it looks like the whole world will never be the same again because Harriet Miers was nominated.

Its like the whole process is running in reverse. Attack and criticize first, then have the hearings to find out who Miers is and what her beliefs are. While we're at it, let's go ahead and disparage SMU and the church Miers attends, along with her makeup, hair and the fact that she hasn't married or had children. Everything Miers' touches turns to crap apparently. Whenever anyone points out her accomplishments, it is invariably followed with "yes, but, (insert demeaning remark here)."

I'm finding these early attacks on Miers to be very intriguing...I have questions about Miers, too, but it would be nice for her to have time to at least sit down in the chair in front of the microphones and answer a few questions or make her statements before we go too far off the deep end on her.

In her article, Coulter even critiques a poster's grammar. Hope I don't find a horse's head in my bed tomorrow morning just for saying I think it would be nice to hear Miers and Bush out before rendering a final opinion.

I and many others angry about this aren't angry at Miers. How can we be, we know nothing about her. I am dissapointed with Bush. He picked her over several brilliant, conservative, constructionists, and most distressingly, made HIMSELF look weak in the process. If he is confident of his positions, and conservatism in general, nominate an obvious conservative. Show some stones. It will drive the dems crazy, and that is ALWAYS good for the Republicans.
