She's gone too far this time..."still boozing it up"...I didn't get any farther than that. Why she is such an icon to some conservatives is often quite beyond me.
I like Ann, and agree with her on many points. However, I must agree the "booze" was not appropriate, even for Ann.
"Still boozing it up" is a cheap shot.
She doesn't mince words and she is an asset to the noble cause of Conservatism.
Truth is, GWB was "boozing it up" at that time. He himself has admitted as much, so why censure Ann C. for saying it?
I disagree with her about Harriet Miers, especially her reasons as to why she believes Miss Miers to be unqualified. But I still recognize Ann Coulter as an astute commentator and able saleswoman for the conservative brand.
That was lame.
Bush freely admits he was a party boy back in the '80s, before he turned his life around. Sometimes the truth hurts, but that's no reason to suppress it.
That's where I stopped, too. If I want to read crap like that, I'll go to DU.
That would be because she is a conservative... not a republican.
I agree, I find her petty and rude more often than not.
Coulter has fallen off the radar lately, so I guess she's trying to engage us in this debate for exposure.
I bought her book, 'How to talk to a liberal if you must', and gave up after 10 chapters or so.
I figure a book that promises to tell me something, should.
Then you missed the first sentence in her last paragraph:
However nice, helpful, prompt and tidy she is, Harriet Miers isn't qualified to play a Supreme Court justice on "The West Wing," let alone to be a real one.
Ann has no idea of Miers' qualifications and no idea what Miers has done (except to cluelessly repeat and mock what she's heard about the 'Texas Lottery'). Does Coulter know Miers holds a degree in Mathematics? I'd say one has to have "giant brains" (that's Ann's phrase being cutesy smart and saying Miers doesn't have them) to obtain such.
She has really made a fool of herself with this "piece".
As to SMU's standing, I read yesterday that in the sixties when Miers attended it was well-respected. How foolish of Ann to cite current US News and World Report's current rating to dismiss the establishment.
I agree with you on this....this is totally unbecoming and shameful language. She is no better than a liberal when she attacks her own with such hateful language. Whether you agree or disagree with Bush, he still deserves respect.
Because she has great legs. Thats about it.
I came late to this thread--I had the same thought. Please see my #630.
I can't believe this is the same author that I actually managed to have a Canadian library buy her book. I gotta say, I'm done with Ann. She was funny and bright, but now far too bitter against Bush and his nominiees and I don't understand why.
I'll take Mark Steyn now (he was always my favorite anyway).
Dear Bonnie, please submit glossy 8 x 10 for comparison so we can ascertain exact degree of jealousy harbored in your shallow, hollow soul!
I am with you on this. Have always loved her in the past, but I think she is getting a little too full of herself. There is no difference between her and the liberals with these comments.
No! We must all worship GW Bush. He is almighty and always right. He has a PLAN!
