I don't know, but the real irony here is that many of the people who will be making personal attacks on ann coulter were the same ones saying Miers would be a good pick because she's a 'Christian'.
Some of the most unchristian behavior I've seen on this board has come from people who put themselves off as being 'Christians'.
I guess their particular view of Christianity doesn't include avoiding personal attacks. Or detecting irony.

Ann lost me by supporting McCarthy
Please tell me you signed up for the 'conservative movement' 'cuz it was cool. I will be greatly relieved. If we have this kind of opinion in the conservative movement, no wonder we are in trouble!
Coulter's support of McCarthy was dead-on.

In fact, bush promised us a scalia or thomas when he would be appointing judges.

I get it. Ann writes something, you disagree with, and instead of shredding her logic, you flop the Midol card. I hafta admit, I was with her until THAT. The power of your argument has won me over! She's just a crazy chick, right? Why do we even let them out of the house anyway?
She has a point here, and I'm pretty sure that Miers is going to be confirmed, but conservatives who have been fighting this fight for years have a legitimate voice in this argument. Now, go take some Viagra.

she is ranked as one of the top 100 lawyers in the country and that makes up for it.I seem to recall that Hillary was able to make the same claim about herself.

What she was saying with that "boozing it up" comment is that long before Bush straightened out and saw the light, long before he became president, there were people fighting hard to straighten out our courts. They (and we) have been fighting for 25 years. Now finally Bush comes along, has a chance to put a nail in the coffin of the judicial tyrants, and he blows it witha lightweight nomination.
You may not agree with this judgment, but I don't see why it's so far out of line.

What is Miers opinion on the law? You seem to be privy to this information, share it with us.
To: BonnieJ
She's gone too far this time..."still boozing it up"...I didn't get any farther than that. Why she is such an icon to some conservatives is often quite beyond me. She doesn't mince words and she is an asset to the noble cause of Conservatism.
Truth is, GWB was "boozing it up" at that time. He himself has admitted as much, so why censure Ann C. for saying it?
I disagree with her about Harriet Miers, especially her reasons as to why she believes Miss Miers to be unqualified. But I still recognize Ann Coulter as an astute commentator and able saleswoman for the conservative brand.

I love her! Yes, the Supreme Court is a place for people who know the law well and can stand up to liberal blandishments. Its not a dumping ground for political hacks and cronies. The President is not a god and doesn't deserve conservatives' unquestioned fealty. Even a President makes a mistake and this is a big one.

How do you know she is?
I don't know how many thousands of times this has to be explained, but the issues not whether she will be a great jurist or a lousy one.
It's that we are being told little more than "trust us" with no actual evidence for or against her either way.
Do you get it yet?

There is a bank teller in Texas- who once helped Bush decide on the gift between a toaster and a wall clock- that is hoping to be the next Chairperson of the Fed.
