But it was so long ago. Nobody cares. It was the '60's (OK I saw the date, but 1972 was politically the 60's). He was just a stupid kid. Hey, the guy he shot lived, so its all right.

Depends on what his record looks like. He's 67 now, so he's probably a lot less likely to get involved in shootings.

As a former student at SUNY @ Stony Brook, I can tell you that the 60s extended at least to 1987.
