One thing I think would have made the moving experience just a tad nicer--other than the folks buying our old house being more, how shall we say, polite?--would have been to have seasonable weather. The spring had been so nice, but it picked that time to remind us the weather in northern Virginia can just get beastly in the summer.
I think moving under the best conditions is exhausting; I cannot believe having to do it your way. :)
I have only lived in 4 houses in the past 48 years and all of them are within a 4 miles radius. We just loaded the pickup a few times and took a couple of days to get moved. Pets were moved last.
whew.
Chair, you started out your story with how things got rough with the initial lag in packing. We always underestimate how long it will take & Murphy ALWAYS helps.
Moving & building are very stressful on couples (as I am sure you & the Mrs. shared "a few words" along the way.
I enjoyed reading the story a few months ago & again when I worked up the thread.
Gretchen, I know that as you focus your life with God you will be blessed ... but we both know the other side will be busy too..
Hope you both keep us posted...AND
Did anyone ELSE notice that Gretchen & Chair were moving (stressing) at the appox same time????
