[Russia: Nuke boss] Adamov Hires Bill Clinton's Former Lawyer

Former Nuclear Power Minister Yevgeny Adamov will be represented in U.S. courts by a former lawyer for former U.S. President Bill Clinton, the lawyer's office said Tuesday.

The Washington law firm of Covington & Burling said Lanny Breuer, who represented Clinton during impeachment hearings and a trial in 1998 and 1999, had been retained by Adamov and would represent him in court if he were extradited to the United States. "Our team is of course very busy on the case, and Lenny Breuer is the head of it," said John Smith, a lawyer with the firm.

A Swiss court ruled on Monday that Adamov would be extradited to the United States rather than to Russia, which filed its own extradition request after the U.S. request in May. Adamov is accused of embezzling $9 million of U.S. aid meant to improve Russian nuclear security during his time as nuclear power minister from 1996 to 2001.

Justice Minister Yury Chaika on Tuesday expressed doubt that the United States would extradite Adamov to Russia after conducting its own trial. "We and the United States do not have a mutual extradition treaty. In my view, the Swiss side ought to have taken that into account," Chaika told reporters.

Adamov's lawyers have not yet announced whether they will appeal the Swiss court's decision. If they do not, Adamov could be sent to the United States as early as Saturday.

Follow the money. It's going to lead directly to the impeached POS. Unless, of course, attorney Breuer messes up.

I can certainly smell clintoon's handiwork..."we'll send ya all this pile of money for securing nukes and you send half the pile back to the DNC"...

This is extremely serious: Adamov...a nuke security guy obviously in business for himself...would he seek out buyers among the islamofascist jihadist's for stockpile weapons??

How many others in russian nuke security are in business for themselves supplying weapons to the jihadist's??

Does this explain the hundred or so suitcase nukes missing from the soviet stockpile??

I believe our interrogators at GITMO need to spend some quality time with this guy....gloves off...extract everything he knows. What was removed from the stockpile? To whom did it go? Where was it delivered? Where is it now? etc.

It's highly unusual that, of all people, the Russians (who could have prosecuted him) and the Swiss (who could have proudly and obstinately offered him refuge) are being so cooperative in handing Adamov over to us. Why? I'm sure they know exactly what Adamov was up to, but perhaps there is some missing information at our end--extremely serious, vital to national security, highly damaging to you-know-who. We can only hope he spills the beans before clinton's goons convince him to shut up.

IIRC Chris Rock said that taking Johnny Cochran (FWIW RIP)as your lawyer is the equivalent to pleading guilty.

Taking a Clinton lawyer must be similar.

Algore was the point man for Russian corruption. Sandy Berger handled the ChiComms.

If the trail leads anywhere, it will lead to Algore.

That's not what I said, now, is it?

I said a.) Algore was the point man for Russian corruption and b.) if the trail led anywhere, it would lead to him.

a.) is a true statement. b.) is a reasonable assertion, based on a.)

Neither statement denies Clinton's complicity or his (and Hillary's) calling the shots.

However, the Clintons are very likely to have covered their tracks and enjoy "plausible deniability".
