So basically she's saying it was a petulant move designed to get back at us for depriving him of the joy of putting Al on the court. I think Coulter might have something.

Let me help you, because you desperately need it. What you and the other sheeple are saying here is what the late Sen. Roman Hruska said in support of Nixon's Carswell nomination:
"Even if he is mediocre there are a lot of mediocre judges and people and lawyers. They are entitled to a little representation, aren't they, and a little chance? We can't have all Brandeises, Cardozos, and Frankfurters, and stuff like that there."
"We are all waiting breathlessly for you, whomever you are, to tell use in one complete, well-written sentence Miers's judicial philosophy, and the basis for your conclusion. You can continue to attack each of us personally, but you are losing ground, and badly."
She views the 2nd Amendment as an individual right, which is far more than any so-called "well-qualified conservative" has done in any of their writings; my basis for this assessment is her Texas Lawyer article of 1992.

Michael Brown successfully managed over 150 separate disasters including the four simultaneous hurricane-relief efforts in Florida last year.
And we are discovering that many of the "horror" stories put out over FOXNEWS and CNN were fabrications from the office of Ray Nagin and Police Commissioner Compass.
I thought Brown was a wuss until I saw him stand up to that limp-wristed Chris Shays. Brown got shafted.
We might just stay home.

This may be a good time to look at the cases before the court.
Late this year, if memory is correct, a very important partial-birth abortion case will be heard. Maybe Bush wants "his" pick to decide this case instead of SDO.
If this happens, and it should, we will know very soon if Bush failed with this nominee. Bush is hoping for a vote by Thanksgiving on Miers. If Miers is seated and votes the "right" way on this case, then at least the pro-lifers will be appeased.
The conservative intellectuals will continue to harp about a second rate jurist and life will go on. Sadly this pick has splintered the conservative coalition and the only winners are the left-wing nuts.
