When GHWB acted like a RINO, he gave us clinton.

When ford was a RINO, he gave us carter.

The major defeats of republicans in the recent past have pretty much centered on the party abandoning its base. The party going RINO is the cause, republicans getting demotivated and democrats winning is the result.

You want to ensure party unity? Demand accountability from the leaders of the party. Don't attack the members of the core, conservative base who try to hold the feet of party leaders to the fire. They are the ones trying to hold things together.
