Well, I guess Reid and Pelosi will change their tune tomorrow. And Chuckie and Teddy will go ballistic. Should be fun to watch.

"No matter what I can't get past someone donating to Algore. There are just some things you can't take back or forgive."
Point taken. However, Gore used to be strongly pro-life, steady on defense and a fairly conservative Democrat overall. All that started to change around 1998 once he desired the Presidency and later became involved with the Clintons. Now, he's a full on kook.
"Some try to Bring up Reagan as a comparative, but it is a different era."
True.

Colossians 1:15-17 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
The Supremacy of Christ
15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

"and in the meantime, the partial-birth abortion case scheduled in the SC will be heard, and decided one way or the other, and becomes the law of the land. I'm not sure we have a lot of time to waste on filibusters and such."
So instead of waiting another month or two, you will settle for an unknown quantity getting a lifetime appointment to the supreme court.

Actually, He said "the heart of the ruler" is in His hand. Nothing catches Him by surprise.

And what happens if she gets denied? Exactly! Let's not shoot ourselves in the butt. We have a pro-life, pro-RKBA evangelical, nonsocial, non-ivory league, nominee. Jeez folks, my mother at 60 was the most tenacious, died in the wool, couldn't change her mind for ANYTHING, person at 60, now she's 69 and even more set in her ways. Don't let this opportunity pass.....we have a winner here...IF conservatives pull it together.......

Several months ago, Drudge had an article about Schumer talking on his cell phone regarding SC picks.
Schumer stated that the Dems were hell-bent on having the conservatives question certain nominees because Dems hoped to get another Schumer. The goal was to have us question the nominee (so they wouldn't have to).
Harry Reid baited the hook, and all these Conservatives with short-memories fell for it.
Harry Reid was an embarrassment yesterday. So were Conservatives.

Petty perhaps. Call me guilty for stereotyping Clinton's #2 skid mark lumped in the same breath as as Fat Ted, Kerry, Ried, Boxer, Feinstein, Hillary, Chuckie, and a thousand others.

the news of the miers nomination was 'leaked' to the times last week...obviously by someone in the adminstration trying to see what the reaction to her would be.
And now the NY times has another 'exclusive' piece of information on Miers.
Something smells funny about it.
To: Cicero
I do find it suspicious that the NYTimes is printing this. While in the pro-Miers camp and am an evangelical Christian myself, I get a little cringe when someone's religion is emphasized in the (liberal)media. There are a few things wrong with your points.
"I have no objection to born-again conservative Evangelicals, but I find it highly suspicious that this woman turned Republican and joined a Texas church at a moment most convenient to her career."
How was this most convenient to her career? She did this in the late 70's and converted through a junior colleague.
"I also find it suspicious that someone leaked this story to Drudge, with the obvious hope of pulling Evangelicals back on board the train."
The evangelicals were about the only people on board long before this story came out through the recommendations of Dobson and others.

"Will it get conservatives off her case?"
Will it get conservatives off her case? I don't know. But it might get Shumer ON her case. Reid too. And don't start with me about Barbara Boxer.
To: hiredhand
If there's one thing that simply pushes leftists over the edge, it's conservative "born again", Christians.
They can't handle a moral authority outside of themselves.

So?
This country wasn't set-up for the elites.
Barrier to entry was never a foundation.
That's something the rulers have created to keep us commoners out.
I'm stunned you support that.
