I love hearing Great news like this (except the money part). Well worth the investment though, I'd guess.
I am praying that Ink will give you much joy for several years. Feel so bad for you all, was talking about Ink in work today. I know how much you love Ink. Happy that she is being a "pain-in-the-butt", that's a good sign :-) When Ink is ready, throw her treats and sticks from me. My pup, Lucy told me to give her as many treats as she wants :-)
Yes, life is good. Hang in there, all. Keep the faith
Great News!I am SO happy for all of you!
We all hope it's several years.
Thank you :-)
Hummmm .... Hummmmm ..... Hummm
Hi Miss Maggie ... )
Wassup witme?
Work work work ... very little rest for the weary ... chained to it like Ben Hur to the oars.
I appreciated your comments the other day re: President Bush's pick for the Supreme Court.
Many are disheartened by it ... I am disheartened by their rush to judgement of both him and her.
I think she'll be a terrific Judge.
Howdy, M'am ... )
Hi, (((JW)))!
Mornin TO. I pry Daisy's mouth open with my fingers and place the pill at the back of her throat then close her mouth and hold it shut while gently rubbing her throat. That always works for me, she swallows it immediately.
I have had the privilege(?!) of trying to give a large pill to an unwilling and wily dog...We used a lot of butter around the pill..opened the jaws..stuck it as far down as possible with fingers..(hoping they don't have time to move it out of the middle of the tongue, ready to spit it out). quickly held the snout up, holding his jaws shut..Really large pills sometimes can be cut in half and then you get to double the experience!
Sometimes it took more than 2 tries..reapplying butter to pill before the swallow occurred each time ..Then the licking of the butter off my hands and a treat always followed success...lots of detergent for my hands and hot water for my hands to get the butter off for me!
Once we had to grind them up, place it in food..I can't recall how well that worked.
Thank so much. We can use all the help and suggestions we can get. Our household queen is being her old spoiled self. Thank God.
How's Gert?

I put the pill in liverwurst, squish the liverwurst around the pill. I then give a couple of pieces of liverwurst (without the pill) to my pup. I then put the piece with the pill towards the back of the mouth, and quickly put peanut butter on the tip of the tongue. Hold snout shut, rub the throat, sometimes it works the first time, sometimes not. Amazing how they know there is a pill in there. Dogs are smart
Ink always knows where the pill is. lol
jsut catching up a little reading on both today & last nights thread. I had a pretty intense day yesterday & feel badly I didn't spend as much time as I should have. So very happy that the news is better for Ink.. and wow, some vet bill !!!!
l. I don't do Doctors as a general rule. The vet bills here have far exceeded our medical bills.
And you pill stories are funny. That has always been tough for me with the cats. The couple times I have had to get aspirin down oliver, it was pretty easy
we are both on the wrong thread.. sigh..
:-)
