The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors,but Article 1 , section 2 says
The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.and Article 1 Section 3 says
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.I see no requirement for an impeachment other than the person holds an office of honor (hence the titles Hon. George W. Bush and Hon. Hillary Clinton--shudder). You can impeach a Senator just like you can impeach a judge (I believe). Impeachment is not usually necessary to remove a Senator or Representative because they also have the power to expel a member with 2/3 concurrence. But if used, the Senator or Representative would be barred from any office with the title "Honorable" (judges, executive secretaries, senators, representatives, and the presidency)Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law

I'd like to believe this would put her in the hoosegow where she belongs. But I don't think it will happen. Not even sure this will mar her run ( and I do believe she'll run ) in 2008.

Seems to me the Clinton administration (particularly at two degrees from the President) probably set records in the number of their insiders being indicted and convicted.
But it also seems to me that it is traditional that past presidents (and probably their wives) are not prosecuted. After all, if they were then every time the administration changed there would be a bunch of Ronnie Earles out to indict them.
However, Democrats have been throwing tradition out the window in recent years. It also used to be a tradition that past presidents didn't speak against the current officeholder. But then came Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
It also used to be a tradition that the differences between political parties stopped at our borders. But anymore, the Democrats are essentially campaigning for al Queda, France, etc.
Have you tried to connect Hugh Hewitt into this saga? He's well versed at explaining legal maneuvers, highly familiar with beltway hi-jinx, and I think his audience is fairly influential.
