A lot of the right was ready to slaughter him if he didn't nominate one of the three or four people on THEIR list.

I thought he looked a lot better on Sunday more relaxed than he has for a while

the President is starting to look a little haggard - hope he's ok

Maybe that is why he has never vetoed a spending bill since he has been President.

Your comment makes no sense.

Not only does it make no sense but we discourage those kind of comments on this thread. You can go somewhere else if you want to trash the president.

Here is a great photo of Clarence Thomas

I think I have figured out something that is common with most of the ones that are the angriest....

Tony Snow and Mark Levin are both really upset...usually HUGH fans of President Bush...

But, I have heard both of them say that they were in on vetting previous nominees...and both times, the nominee THEY PICKED, went on to "go liberal"....

And Levin is ranting right now about how HE is responsible for Anthony Kennedy...and that he WAS sure that he would be a true conservative...

I sense fear and guilt.

That picture of Condi and Clarence Thomas is great!

I was going to say the same thing! So is the next one with Condi and the priest (forgive me if that is the wrong term).

"I am listening to Mark Levin right now....dang, if I didn't know better, I would think that Bush killed someone...WHOA!!!"

I recommend that you listen to Hugh Hewitt instead . . . He's actually providing a sane/rational analysis of the President's selection -- a selection STRONGLY endorsed by Dr. James Dobson and Jay Sekulow!!

You can listen to him live at

Possibly. Mark has sited other nominees from other presidents for why he's being so pessimistic about Miers. I don't get that. We're not talking about "other presidents" and "other nominees", Mark We're talking about THIS president and THIS nominee.

Hello snugs! Thanks for the much needed dose. :) I hate to admit I have been on a roller coaster of emotions today. I probably need to be sent to the corner. :) I was not sure about President Bush's choice of Miers(do not know much about her). And of course I HAD to stumble onto a very mean spirited thread this morning. I didn't believe she would be his nominee, however there were those who were just spewing things about her, most of them unfounded and I didn't know what to think. Thankfully more info. about her is coming out, and I was somewhat heartened to hear that she is a member of a conservative church. It is very hard to separate your spiritual beliefs from your everyday walk of life. I still do not know what to think of her, but I am so glad to visit this thread today. Don't know how much more of the others I can take. :(

It was interesting seeing Clarence Thomas but I preferred the pics of Condi talking to the Archbishop and Mrs. Roberts. Sometimes Condi Rice is so pretty she makes me think of a Barbie doll, which is not really a bad thing, I suppose, but in those two she looks lovely and focused and doesn't remind me of anyone or anything else, which I prefer. ;)
