The reason that the Right is gaining ground in America is that we have titans like Scalia and Thomas on our side and our opponents have midgets like Ginsburg and Breyer on their's. Why couldn't Bush has added even more strength to the team? There was no shortage of top flight talent.

Miers may prove a reliable vote when the hot button issues come before the court. But we the numbers still stack up 5 to 4 against us. Our movement needed another intellectual titan to move the hearts and minds of elite opinion generally and Justice Kennedy's in particular. What ever her merits may be, Justice Miers is not the person to do that. Indeed, she will prove to be a demoralizing force to Scalia/Thomas/Roberts and a even greater disappointment than O'Connor.

It is not possible to be more disappointing than O'Connor.

And she was appointed by Reagan....I'm still trying to figure that one out.

Numerous sources are calling Miers pro-life, pro-Christian, anti-activist.

She IS to the right of O'Connor.

And....we have the president's word on it.
