IOW's I think Roberts will be more reticent than Miers to chuck precedent. But that's truly looking at the crystal ball. I have nothing to back it up. Just picture me with a turban and a card to my forehead.
Fair enough. She will certainly start off as a cautious one. Later on, she will take on a life of her own. She is probably more likely to chuck Roe than Roberts is my wild guess. I suspect she will go Kennedy on homo issues. I look forward to the hearings. Is she a mental mediocrity or not? If she is, I vote no.
I guess my main concerns about Miers are her age (we needed someone around 50) and the seeming unwillingness of the White House to confront the Senate Judiciary Democrats head-on. It's as if President Bush is afraid to go to war with the likes of Schumer, Biden, and Kennedy over judicial philosophy, so he keeps sending up nominees whose philosophy is unclear.
I agree with you. All this hysteria is rather ridiculous.
Coulter sounds more and more like Susan Estrich each time I hear her. She comes across as whiney with an ego that grows by the day. I'm rather tired of her bashing the President. I think Coulter and a few other talking heads are just miffed cause the President doesn't listen to their "advice". Someone needs to remind them all that this is the President's choice......not theirs.
jwalsh, I like the turban. The color looks good on you!
