"And it doesn't bother you that she has exactly zero experience as a judge?"
Doesn't bother me much.... that's valuable, no doubt, but there have been such exceptions in the past, AND her experience in both the private sector and the executive branch of the federal government far far surpasses that of any SCOTUS justice I am aware of..... THOSE are valuable qualifications, too. I like the fact that when justices are deliberating there will be one who has actually had to wrestle with the toughest issues of waging the war on terror, etc. It is said that Miers has handled almost every piece of paper that ever crossed GW's desk as President, and I think it will be very valuable to have a justice who's been part of such discussions and knows a lot about the hardest issues a President faces..... I also like having a justice who has seen the real effects of tort abuses, etc. in our economy.... our judiciary has been far too dominated by academic liberals, and someone with extensive experience in both the private sector and the Bush WH could be a real breath of fresh air. I'm not wild about her, I need to learn a lot more, but I'm definitely not ready to disparage her out of hand as many are doing.....

You obviously have an open-mind. We need more of that around here.
