BUMP.
.... and many, many, many other freepers are Bush donkey-supporters!
"and how do you know more than Bush does, what she is"
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that she is not Thomas or Scalia...the fact that Reid and Feinstein like her should tell us that.
But there were plenty of Scalias and Thomases to choose from and Bush took the weak route...somebody acceptable to the Dems.
Has Ann Coulter ever worked her way to the top of a 400 lawyer firm -- Miers has.
I can only hope that Coulter's carping is part of a greater conservative strategy to cry crocodile tears.
Miers job was to vet justices for appointment by Pres. Bush to the courts. All of the justices that Coulter wants appointed were picked by Miers. That should say something about her sensibilities.
It should also remind us of the one who vetted VP candidates for Pres. Bush prior to his first presidential campaign -- Dick Cheney. The Pres said he had the best candidate under his nose and then noticed it.
Any complaints about Cheney?
This calls for us to rely on Pres. Bush, but more importantly, to rely on all those prayers over the years.
Ann Coulter is a victim of Republican success. She is a writer desperately in need of a Democrat Administration.
LOL!
Great Lines!

This just shows you how brilliant this pick is and how desperate the lefties have become. I think this is their strategy. The lefties know Bush's numbers are down and they are trying to siphon off his conservative base by throwing some of these thoughts on the Miers pick.
When I first heard about this yesterday, I was disappointed but as I went through the day and heard about the pick, I think it is brilliant. She has no track record as a judge so the Dems will have a dificult time putting her on the hot seat, she is an insider (so Bush knows her better than a lot of other President's picks) and Reid and company have basically endorsed her. The only thing the lefties can say is the conservatives are disappointed with the pick.
I trust this President because he has done exactly what he says. Bush has said he wants more Justices in the Scalia/Thomas mold and I believe him. I have heard she is a Christian and she is pro-life. I truly believe this pick will show how great of a man Bush is and the legacy is leaving behind. He understands the stakes and the opportunity he has to make an impact on this Supreme Court and this country.
I was thinking back in 1997 when 1 million men got together in Washington DC to pray and intercede for this country. I remember Clinton flying over with Marine One to see all the men and he couldn't believe how many evangelical Christians were there. A year later President Clinton is impeached and a presidency starts to unravel.
We elect President Bush (an answered prayer in D.C.) who is not the savior of this country but an evangelical Christian who does what he says he will do and searches after God's heart. I believe we will say Miers is one of the best justices for this country and conservative Christian will be thanking God for Bush's pick in a few years.
I really don't care that she is not a Harvard blue blood. I'll not trash Coulter, cause I generally like her, but I think she's way off on this one.
Like most of the bashers I've seen, they totally ignore the political realities being faced.
We need someone more conservative than moderate liberal Sandra Day O'Connor. The worst decisions of recent years were 5-4 decisions. Had O'Connor been only slightly more conservative, we would have won those decisions.
It is not possible to be more disappointing than O'Connor.
And she was appointed by Reagan....I'm still trying to figure that one out.
Numerous sources are calling Miers pro-life, pro-Christian, anti-activist.
She IS to the right of O'Connor.
And....we have the president's word on it.

complete mediocrity
>>>>
Can someone explain to me what and what does not constitute mediocrity ?
William Rehnquist never was a judge, yet became SCOTUS justice and Chief Justice eventually.
Clarence Thomas was head of the obscure EEODC before he was elevated to Justice.
Why pray tell, were these relatively unknown nominees not mediocrities and only Miers ?
Do you have to graduate from an Ivy League school like Ann Coulter to NOT be considered mediocre ?
If so, then why not simply write a rule that says, anyone who does not graduate from the top 10 Law schools of the Peterson's Graduate School guide need not apply ?
I absolutely love AC - and I am most decidedly female.
Ann will be on Mike Rosen's show LIVE Tues. Oct. 4th at 10:00am mountain on 850am KOA. Details here:
