Thanks for picking the line with the typo in it! LOL! That's why I qualified my statement by saying that I didn't know much about precedence, procedure, etc..
I just want a judge who can read the constitution, not interpret it.
"The constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests." --Patrick Henry
...She tithes.
And she does her alms in the closet?????
Doesn't sound like it.
And as Jesus said, "verily they have their reward..."
From who? Joe Biden? The Fat Load from Massachusetts? You?

OK -
Play a "hat if" game:
(1) Bush nominates her....
(2) She is trashed/Borked in the Senate (insanity) hearing for nonsensical and irrelevent reasons,
(3) Her name is pulled and substitute is sent up, but the demo's can't trash him/her with the same excuses twice ...
(4) Bush gets the SECOND NAME through.
She's also a conservative with a compassionate side, as demonstrated by her emotional anguish through the Terry Schiavo ordeal.
I just wish the brothers Bush had had as much fight for Terri as AC did.
Summary....she's a lawyer, she puts it on the line...I'll take her lead about the worthiness of this nominee.
LOL! :)
Does that mean you shed the pounds every autumn and sprout new ones in the spring? :)
I think the biggest problem conservatives have with this nominee is that she will not become a judicial activist for our side. We give a lot of lip service to strict constructionism, but I think that's all it is. In the final analysis, we want one of "our" guys in there to interpret the Constitution in a way that we find suitable, even if that means we end up with interpretations that are every bit as creative as those on the other side of the fence.
From her 8 coworkers on SCOTUS. It is a real job with real work to be done. I doubt she's used to it.
"Miers has been practicing law for more than 30 years"
Except for those years when she ran the Texas lottery commision... or those other years when she was an assistant chief of staff for W. Right?
"Has the trashing of Coulter started yet?"
Has anyone noticed that Ann has showing almost the identical symptoms as Pat Buchanan did before he went totally 'loco' (and also irrelevant)...

Why post a RNC memo if you don't agree with it?
I get emails from Norman Lear's PAW group and don't post it.
Disagree. She will easily confirmed. That's why Bush picked her.
SCOTUS nominee who gave money to John Kerry five days before election day 2004?
If this is true then the Republicans need to search like hell to bring more of this type of stuff up.
Peek.
Vice versa here...lol
If you listened to radical, reflexively anti-American zealots like Philip Nobile you'd be convinced that Harry Truman was the identical twin of Adolf Hitler.
I'm sure that the UFPJ and ANSWER moonbats would have some fun superimposing Der Fuhrer's image over Harry's honest visage, were he alive today.
Pfft!
"This will prove to be either the shrewdest or the lamest political decision of this presidency."
If there's a silver lining to this, its that no one really knows how someone will be once their on the court. It always a crapshoot to some extent.
I heard it on a radio interview with the elder (I think) of the church she attends. So, it wasn't her shooting off her mouth. From all accounts, she doesn't make any effort to advertise her charity.
