Looks like Earle is a tad bit pissed about Delay's comments about him after the first indictment. This is all so transparent IMO.

MESSAGE TO THE GOP

It is budget time in the Congress. I really don't know how any money for Texas can survive the political process - particularly any funds for U Texas - when a leading political figures is otherwise occupied and unable to support his state through the very difficult and tortuous budget process. How does Earle get around the statute of limitations? My understanding is that it would be 3 years for money laundering.

Didn't this all supposedly happen in September of '02?

The committee checks cut to candidates were dated Oct. 4, 2002. See this post.

If Delay has any sense at all (and I believe that he does), he'll let this play out, have the charges thrown out in court for the withholding of exculpatory evidence, and break it off in Earle's A$$. I would own him (Earle) at the end of this process...

Actually, it is one of my areas of practice as I have a similar case right now. You need to read the following case:

http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?navby=search&court=US&case=/us/000/96%2D792.html

"Section 1983 may create a damages remedy against a prosecutor for making false statements of fact in an affidavit supporting an application for an arrest warrant, since such conduct is not protected by the doctrine of absolute prosecutorial immunity."

If I practiced litigation accepting as gospel without argument one case, especially one that isn't really on point, to determine how to proceed, I wouldn't be a very good lawyer. There are ALWAYS exceptions and ways around a holding.

Ronnie Earle ran back to get another grand jury to re-indict Delay, after he realized he had charged him with a crime that wasn't a crime, and got them to charge him with money laundering. Money laundering is taking money gained from illegal means and then filtering it to make it look like it was gained legally. So Earle is saying that Delay took money gained LEGALLY and then filtered it into a crime. But what crime???

Did Ronnie Earle ever go to law school?

I'm starting to think that when this is all said and done, that this is really going to make a great movie, I just don't think it is going to be the movie Ronnie was hoping it would be.

Ronnie Arse Earle tried to get new indictment, was no-billed. No new charge for money laundering. But since it was on all the newspaper headlines all over the globe all weekend, the damage has already been done to us.

What a waste of taxpayer's money!

If they wanted a legitimate cause, they should go after Sen. Clinton...but they won't cause they're chicken!
