I agree with "Brilliant's" above quote. Perhaps President Bush played it cool, to get these Supreme Court confirmations out of the way so he can settle on all the other important matters that we are clamoring for.

Well of course she's not the best choice. The best choice would have no chance whatever of getting approved by the Senate. Then Miers would be the one to pick AFTER the best choice is actually rejected by the Senate. It's a head-in-the-sand mentality to not even attempt to get the best nominee possible.
