The president has known her personally for years, so I think he probably knows her better than anyone.
I'm encouraged that Miers was influential in filling the Appeals bench with folks like Owen, Brown, etc.
BTW folks, we may have 55 Pubs in the Senate, but certainly not 55 Conservatives. And, oh yeah..."stealth" goes both ways.
We can safely assume that President Bush prizes loyalty which means he will defend his friends. Miers must be very loyal to be honored with a Supreme Court nomination. Therefore, I believe Bush will turn into a pit bull when the liberals start trashing Miers. He has full ownership here. This particular process in the Senate has the potential for highly entertaining political theater!
