Have any of you "kneejerkers" even considered that maybe...just maybe Bush does know how Miers comes down on THE IMPORTANT ISSUES. I should hope so but how is that supposed to allay our fears that Meirs is a judicial milquetoast? We are supposed to be heartened by her high Bar Association positions?

I trust Bush to nominate strict constructionists. To this point I haven't seen anything that tells me she believes there are "hidden" rights in the Constitution that only she can find.

Oh really. What was Thomas'paper trail like when he was nominated. What did we know about his judicial philosophy at this same point. Exactly nothing and less than we know about Miers.
