You know, all this talk of a head fake, no paper trail, the dems will eat her alive, etc. reminds me of how conservatives reacted to CFR:

It will never pass.
If it does pass, the SCOTUS will rule it unconstitutional.

This will be another CFR- the dems will applaud the choice, a few Republicans will jump ship and vote against her, but she will be approved.

And all that alleged strategery will have backfired.

It does look like he appointed someone based on friendship, not qualifications, and yes, I am very, very disappointed.

Just as I was when he signed CFR.

Another thought. Suppose the WH strategists are hinting that she is not a conservative. The dems bite, approve her and she turns out to be conservative.
