Good points. I was wondering this morning soon after I learned the news, if this pick is going to alienate the base at all, and what it's implications for '06 might be. Time will tell.

My time and money will be spent elsewhere. Bush doesn't deserve our support and doesn't deserve a majority in Congress. A Luttig-type pick would have caused me to overlook his other failings, such as ridiculous spending. Not anymore.

Bush can look forward to Senate hearings called by the majority party during his last two years.
