Since when do opinion polls determine moral standards?

They don't....but your condemning Laura who probably never watched the show and I'm pointing out that people in here watch, support, and promote the show by watching. So you are criticizing the wrong people. I hate all those shows...and think anyone who 'watches' them is promoting immoral principles. YOU AGREE??

I would not necessarily agree that every one who watches a show like "Desperate Housewives" is supporting immoral principles. Hardly anyone in America, except for some members of monastic orders or "back to nature" types have not watched some movie or TV show, heard a song on the radio, or read a book or a periodical that advocated some violation of traditional moral codes, sexual or otherwise. However, if a person made a steady habit of watching such shows or reading such literature, you are exposing yourself to a weakening of your moral values. Consider all the priests and ministers who have been involved in sexual misconduct as an example.

That being said, actions such as Mrs. Bush's off-color jokes at that press club dinner or the Bush daughters attending a mock marriage of two male homosexuals are a tacit endorsement of the immorality rampant in this country. It is as much a sign of endorsement as wearing a MLB baseball cap or a college or NFL football jersey, or a bumper sticker or a campaign button.

Whatever President Bush's personal moral convictions, it is only human to be influenced by the opinions of his wife and daughters.
