Absolutely wrong.

The condemnations are that she is a weak intellect who has no conservative bf's. We would be in no position to moan, except for the campaign promise of Scalia/Thomas. Both of whom are conservative powerhouses.

And the bulk of the condemnation is not at the nominee, but at the President.

Friends, you only win in politics if you are willing to fight. But you are only going to fight for things you really believe.

That is why we need to quit trying to be cute and tricky, which Rove does so well, and just be conservative.

Well, and the fact she has absolutely no qualifications for the job other than she is President Bush's friend. No academic writings, no academic record, never been a judge. Other than that, she is just swell.

I can stomach all the points you mentioned (and agree the marriage issue is grossly unfair). The fact she has no business being a nominee for an appellate court position, let alone the Supreme Court, when there were many qualified conservative nominees is what is unacceptable.

Every time some huge spending bill got pushed through, all we heard was "just be patient, it is all about the judges". Well, this is what we got.

I hope it looks better tomorrow, but for today I plenty angry.
