What about these few pieces of information available give you any reason to hope that she will be different from O'Connor or Souter?

Because George W. Bush has known her for almost 20 years and he NOMINATED her. DUH.

I'm not spreading any falsehoods. Find one or retract that false accusation. Jumping to conclusions - yes, I do that, and I fully admit it. In this particular case it doesn't seem like a big leap.

George W. Bush knowing this person for 20 years does not give me any confidence whatsoever. He has also known Gonzales for many years and he would not be acceptable as a pick. For me the reverse is true: that he has known her 20 years brings up the concern that this is political cronyism, something that this President has been particularly bad concerning (e.g., Brown at FEMA, the new ICE pick, Gonzales, and so on).
