I also have a question and excuse me for being stupid but physics and bombs were never my forte'.

What sort of bomb could make such a loud explosion and not damage anything else around it? Neutron bomb? Doesn't that leave all the buildings and kill the people? I mean, nothing around this site where the bomb went off was damaged - at least not in proportion to the "sound" of the bomb.

I mean, I understand that THIS particular bomb was not a neutron bomb but...

just speculating

It could be the topography of the area.

Buildings reflect sound waves. I would imagine any explosion of a bomb would be deafening in the general vicinity.

A neutron bomb doesn't "not damage anything else around it" but rather put out extra radiation (which is why it's called an enhanced radiation bomb) that kills farther out from ground zero. "Regular" nukes do most of their damage by blast effects, with the radiation being a rather undesireable side effect.
