Didn't mean to confuse - was just pointing out that another tape with English subtitles has been released.
I agree completely - the most recent tape was much much higher quality that the previous ones. Lighting was better, sound was better, and it was clearly indoors.
Zawahiri sure doesn't seem to be languishing in some cave somewhere.
I've got some thoughts on that tape posted on my blog from a few weeks ago if you want to look at it. It was definitely a step upward from his earlier ones.
Damascus Syrian Arab Republic radio in Arabic, official radio station of the Syrian Government carries at 0946 GMT a live sermon from President Hafiz al-Asad mosque in Damascus.
Shaykh Bashir Id al-Bari, mufti of Damascus, delivers the sermon in which he hails Ramadan as a "beloved guest," in which "the doors of paradise are opened and the doors of hell are closed and the devils are chained."
He says: "Here is the month of Ramadan. It will be received by whoever sees its moon. Let him receive it in the best manner with sincere repentance and righteous work that pleases God and His messenger."
The imam notes that some people consider Ramadan a month of rest. "Yet in the history of Islam," he says, "Ramadan is a month of hard work, jihad, earnest effort, and perseverance. In fact, we can call it the month of heroes and heroics." He recalls the battles fought by Muslims in the month of Ramadan, including the 10 Ramadan or 6 October 1973 War.
LOL, come to think of it (hard for a Monday AM before the caffine hits the brain), it probably was your blog that I read on this on.
