That is partly correct. The Church is:
1 - The largest, oldest and best known Church,
2 - The Clergy are distinguishable by dress and expected conduct
3 - They represent a highly respected segment of society, as do teachers, peace officers and firemen.
4 - The MSM and the left HATE many of the moral positions the Church holds as true.
5 - The organization structure creates "deep pockets" for the trial bar to pursue.
6 - America has a HUGE anti-Catholic, anti-immigrant bigotry in certain classes and regions.
You forgot one thing: The Deep Pocket Principle. It were lawyers that kept press and public on this issue for months. Those lawyers operated on the theory that the Catholic Church was a worthy target to plunder. Some poor local protestant parish isn't even worth their attention.

And it’s proponents are still trying to defend the indefensible. Rather than pointing ringers at others or excluding what happened why don’t you turn your energies into cleaning up your own mess?
Even though public school teachers are responsible for more molestations, Christians will be judged more severely, and especially Catholics. They were called to Protect the innocent and shepherd souls. Better they get punished in THIS life, to the full extent. It all needs to be revealed and The Church cleansed.
