Interesting story with one error. The Discovery Channel has a show about investigating history using modern forensic tools. The coroner's report showed Mclaury was shot under the right arm with an 8 guage shotgun. Apparently Mclaury was reaching for a rifle in a saddle scabbard when the horse shied and turned Mclaury into the shotgun blast.
Anyhow, the conclusion of their investigation was that the Earps attempted a good arrest and the Cowboys resisted. Fatal error. As an aside, the movie "Tombstone" is maybe the most accurate movie made on the story. Not perfect of course, but pretty good. And Val Kilmer was absolutely the best Doc Holiday ever.

I watched another OK Corral story on one of the satellite channels the other day, and they said that, while the Earps were on the way to the Corral, the sherrif told them he had already disarmed the Clampetts, so the Earps hid their firearms as they approached.
