Joe Brower says everyday life is like "Wild Kingdom." It's survival of the fittest. And in his world, criminals don't attack people with guns; people with guns are the strong ones.
If some criminal mistakes him for prey, as of today, a new law gives him the right to shoot with the gun he keeps at his side.
"A lion out in Africa doesn't go for the strongest zebra," said Brower, a 44-year-old software engineer. "It goes for the weakest. Human predators do the exact same thing. If you are armed, that makes you stronger."
The "Stand Your Ground" law says instead of running, people who fear for their lives have the right to defend themselves -- no matter where they are.
Gun owners like Brower say the new law will make criminals think twice before they attack. But others who feel uneasy about the legislation say it could turn Florida into the Wild West.
One national group, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, is warning tourists to stay away from Florida for their own safety. Visitors to the state get wide-eyed when they hear about the new law.

just out of curiousity, can the florida tourism board (if there is such a thing) sue the brady group for loss of income if they see a drop in profits due to brady groups accusations?
Unless those tourists are going to Florida with the intent to commit a forcible felony on a citizen of the state, they have nothing to worry about under Florida's lethal-force statutes. The Brady Center for Utter Dishonesty and Distortion knows this, of course.
So the little reporterette girl lied through her straightened, bleached, and capped teeth. She's following in Jason Blair's footsteps. This particular "new article" is nothing be an editorial hit piece poorly disguised as reporting. You're lucky she didn't really smear you and make up even worse quotes. After all if she's making fiction she doesn't have to follow any constraints.
There is somthing about the detent positions on the third picture that looks very non PC
re: New Hope
Unfortunately, New Hope now does no care to hide the fact it caters rather openly and heavily to druggies, perversions of the flesh and the occult(wicca and satanism). *Not* somewhere I enjoy visiting any more. Skip New Hope and move on up the road to the outlets in Lahaska.
