I can remember as a child maybe 10 or so going to a favorite friend's house - a playmate in my school class - & knocking on door & asking "can Cathy come out & play?" a few minutes later mom would return & say Cathy wants to stay in & read..
sigh.
Funny Cathy is now a librarian(single , never married) and I guess she still likes to read!
IO could never understand how one would chose to stay in & read when it was summer & we could run, bike, play ball, go swimming, romp the woods etc..
Makes you glad Laura's friends introduced her to George.
Maybe you could find someone for Cathy.
