Rove must have leaked her name to the press!
"Diplomatic immunity". If they start seizing US embassy personnel, they should expect their own embassy personnel to be expelled from the US.
Criminal courts should not get involved in this kind of thing.
Italy...give it up...this is stupid.
Using diplomatic immunity to shield a CIA operative engaged in this kind of activity is probably not a good idea. And -- assuming that at least the basis of the story is true -- apprehending someone (even a suspected terrorist) in a Western country in this manner is a bad idea, too.
I agree. We wouldn't like it if Italian agents started kidnapping people in New York or DC.
Still believe in the Easter Bunny Huh?
??
Every embassy of every country in the world has an intelligence operative under cover as a Diplomat.Fighting a war where the enemy coniders the entire world to be the battlefields means the enemy has no right to protection from any nation.
it depends what those people had done, and the reasons for which our law enforcement were not cooperating in bringing them to justice.
Diplomatic cover for spies is common. During the cold war, the majority of the Soviet diplomats in the US were likely either KGB or military intelligence. The same went for US embassy staff in Moscow. Even today, France (and likely Israel) use diplomatic cover for their agents here.

This was not a CIA "spy" operation we're talking about here.
Are you trying to tell me that U.S. diplomats were running around in Moscow or Leningrad apprehending "enemies" from third-party nations, or that Soviet diplomats were doing the same thing in Washington or New York?
Maybe it's just me, but I would find it really bizarre for the CIA to be carrying out the kind of operation in Italy that it wouldn't even think of doing here in the U.S.
Speak for yourself. LOL. Us redneck Texans can think of two U.S. Senators from New Yawk they're welcome to.
Hey, since both DeeCee and New Yawk are predominately populated with MoonBat Libbers and politicos of both stripes, I'd even be willing to take my chances and give the Italian officials the OPEN SEASON sign for those two areas, figuring they might get a few of us but they'd get a whole lotta them.

CIA is prevented by law from doing anything in USA.If they followed your plan they would be out of business.
The CIA is prevented by law from abducting people on the streets in Italy, too.
Here's more proof that when you "delete" a file, you actually don't delete it. The Clintonoids are reported to have done a really good job with Vince Foster's computer--the reformatted the hard drive, restarted the machine with the hard drive running, and dropped it on the floor. Nothing could be recovered.
