A man about what?
All you narcissists that think unless you live in the USA your life is empty?
The USA only makes up a small percentage of the world's population. Even though you know that, you can't comprehend that people can be genuinely happy in their present environment.
In this country, the man is persecuted in divorce law compared to the woman. He is acutely punished by child-support laws that are so tilted in favor of the mother that it's virtually legal larceny and extortion.
The idea of a Father's rights are anathema to you...especially when the country he resides in happens to be Socialistic and not Capitalistic.
If you're so hopped up on saving little Elian, why aren't you saddling up your donkey and saving all the other billions of children that live in fear of their government or wonder why their government isn't there with bugles blaring as the calvary rides over the hill to save them.
Sure I'd have liked to see Elian stay in the United States...but a father's rights have to stand for something...even though they don't mean squat in our own country.
Leave me alone on this topic. Let's just agree to disagree...because I'll never stop thinking you're an moron because you're incensed that a little boy was returned to his biological father.
I made a completely accurate statement on a factual matter.
You asserted it was BS.
You then go off on an odd rant concerning a pet peeve.
Look kid, I provided accurate information. Next time I'd reccommend you don't show your ignorance (or your peculiar internal psychological world for that matter).
I so agree with you on all counts. If something should happen to me - here or in a foreign country - my kids' rightful place would be with their father. Not some second cousin of my aunt's husband's cousin who never even met the kid. And even if we'd never married (which we have been for over 20 years), it's STILL with their father. Elian's father wasn't a stranger to him, he was involved in the child's life, he has a right to his child. By all accounts, he had a good life back in his village. Living in the US with every electronic gadget ever made, every plastic toy, and all our consumerism isn't the only way of life and isn't necessarily the best way either.
(I'm still scratching my head on the 'he never married so he doesn't have a right to his kid' thing. Why is it you have a 'right' to pay child support even if unmarried? Or have visitation, such as it is? Been through the family court system with my husband and ex about their daughter, I know of which you speak.)
