This may ACTUALLY explain what's wrong with DUmmies!!

Usually, when you sleep and dream... Most of the time dreams hardly ever make any sense, and you think and do things that you would never do in real life! Their brains probably NEVER reconnect when they're awake making ALL their thoughts incoherent and nonsensical!

The DUmmies are missing the brain reconnect that normal people get when they wake up!! The mystery has been SOLVED!

Some of the responders here have confused deep sleep with dream sleep. The phnemenon reported here happens during deep sleep, not dream sleep (which itself is closer to consciousness.)
