No, I am a vegetarian and not a hypocrit. I merely appreciated my friend's kind gesture and hospitality, and I cherished the respect and affection that I have for her, more than I wanted to avoid eating the venison.

It was one of the many choices that we all make every day.

Incidentally, this friend is a raving Leftist and Democrat who campaigned for Kerry and adores Bill and Hillary Clinton. I also did not attack her political positions--though I have discussed these things with her many times and consider them utterly harebrained, and she knows it. Being a Leftist and a carnivore are only some of her qualities; she has many more that I value, cherish, admire, and respect.

This no more makes me a Leftist/Democrat and hypocrit, than my accepting her gift of venison makes me a carnivore and hypocrit did.
