The media would not let him disappear if the Blancos/Bernhards are under fire.

I got the Tony Snow news while on FR, I didn't mean the story broke on FR. I lived in New Orleans and have a good grip on the way things are down there and I only hope it's got legs. I've seen a lot of scandal get buried in Louisiana. You'll have to have Compass turn and even then the Feds could run into a wall. I would not be surprised to see all the employment records and anything else of interest long gone in the flood.
Negan is just a front man for the local machine. From what I have seen of him he plays stupid real well but that doesn't mean he is that dumb. One guy that might be of interest that they are after right now is Congressman Jefferson. He's a bagman I just don't know if he's delivering money to. Been away too long for that.

The FBI is precluded by law and by charter from discussion open investigations. That's why they did such a lousy job investigating terrorists under Clinton. That also means that unless Snow's source talks again, or someone else spills, you won't hear any more about the FBI end of it till indictments are handed down.

BTW, Nagin sixed Compass, per Compass' own off the record statements. See the thread here at FR.

Recalculate.

I understand your point (I think), but nothing you've said invalidates my conspiratorial thesis.

If you believe Occam's Razor it does. Compass cutting a deal with the Feds is a parallel and unnecessary event track if the crux of the contention is between Nagin and Compass.

You need to explore the benefit to Nagin that result from his actions to keep the theory in its simplest form. Benefit or removal of a negative, same deal.

Of course, for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction, at which point a deal between Compass and the Feds is one option that integrates nicely with the main flow.
