The junction where he died was officially renamed in his honour on Tuesday. Who else would get that kind of 'honour'? Good grief.

fifty years is a long time. Glad they kept the family sausage business going. I love the Sage variety.

I was friends with a lady who claims to have dated him back then.
She did a couple of movies and retired to raise her own family.

Wasn't born yet. Have never seen his films. The sausage is my preferred brand, however. ;)

Too bad you don't get the Bob Evans brand out there. Especially his Beer Brats.

An interesting bit of trivia: Dean had won the role of Rocky Graziano in Somebody Up There Likes Me, but it went to Paul Newman after Dean's death. That film basically launched his career.

***When he died, Dean had released only one film, East of Eden. Rebel Without a Cause and Giant were his other big screen releases. ***
Yet he also played the Diciple John (I think it was) in a Catholic film HILL MUMBER ONE.
