I could go on.
No, compared to what we have today, I'd take the 60s any day!
Oh, you mean like this guy?
Have to agree with you there... my biggest worry was talking one punch by the school bully. Trick or Treating lasted until the neighbors turned out the porch lights.... and I never had the candy x-rayed.
A '65 389 with three deuces GTO, a Bulova Accutron watch, a lightweight Colt Commander. "Put on a sharkskin jacket, you know the kind with the velvet collar, and diddybop shades." I like the 'Net, but we've lost more than we've gained. Back then, you could pick up a pay phone, tell the operator "charge this call to my home number", and they'd do it.
In the 60s no one ever heard of "drive-by shootings that now occur multiple times daily in this country, along with the regular work place, and school massacres. In the 60s we didn't have millions pouring into our country illegally, bringing in tons of drugs, overwhelming our schools and hospitals, all while our government looked the other way...And now fanatic religious freaks that want to murder us all.
I could go on.
No, compared to what we have today, I'd take the 60s any day!
But the 60s set the stage for everything that has come since.
Amen! Great post.
Obviously, you never watched, nor heard of "HARVEST OF SHAME" and that was the late '50s, nor about gangs in schools ( think that films like "THE BLACKBOARD JUNGLE", another '50s item, BTW , was based in fiction ?), or gang fights in major cities, nor any of the actual facts of any time prior to now. Your coke bottle lens thick rose colored glasses need to be removed.
The '60s were driven by LSD and marijuana and opened the door wide to other drugs. So it was the beginning of the whole downward spiral.
