I'm trolling for all those people who said the Yankees were out of it months ago.
You are on the wrong thread since this one is for the Winners of the Central Division.

Actually, what happened with the Yanks is nothing short of miraculous, to the chagrin of us haters out there.
1. The fact that they lose 3/5 of their $100 million staff, but the three mediocrities that replace them (Wang, Small, Chacon) go 24-7. Mind-boggling, and I'd venture to say that it's never happened before in baseball history. The Yanks would have taken .500 from those three.
2. The other unheralded, semi-desperation replacement (Cano) proceeds to be Rookie of the Year.
3. The sudden and shocking resurgence of Giambi, right as he's faced with demotion or even release by the team.
4. The number of players on offense to go on the DL all season? Ruben Sierra. That's it. Aaargh.
Congrats, you guys did it again. Mystique and aura, still alive.
