They have a "lab" I've heard, but I've never heard of it getting hacked.
I've often wondered about some sort of security firewall feature that would send a bolt o' zot to whoever/whatever it was that attempts these damages. I'm sure it would be exploited for harms afterward but it could just be consistently upgraded to remain aggressively adversarial, like perpetually out in front as first-strike zot when and as these hack efforts made contact.
On the other hand, sorry, I realize it's an unethical idea. I do wish there was effective law enforcement zotting, however, along the lines of hack and the door busts open with cops and handcuffs and you go straight to jail.
