Kerry's not- so-amazing race, on film
New York Daily News ^

Posted on 09/29/2005 2:38:52 PM PDT by RedRepublic

I hear that John Kerry loyalists are kicking themselves for cooperating last year with filmmaker Steve Rosenbaum on "Inside the Bubble," a potentially devastating behind-the-scenes look at the Massachusetts senator's failed presidential campaign.

The man's a liberal Democrat. Expecting a logical, well-ordered campaign is highly illogical.

Remember? Candidate George W. Bush participated fully in a documentary, maybe lower-budget, made by a liberal woman, of the 2000 campaign.

Is "the bubble" a reference to his haz-mat suit escapade?

I can't believe they'll get a theatrical release.

"Remember? Candidate George W. Bush participated fully in a documentary, maybe lower-budget, made by a liberal woman, of the 2000 campaign."

That reminds me - someone gave that to me, and I still haven't watched it. It's called "Travels With George," or something like that.

So will Hillary.

There is a video on FoxNews.com on Hannity & Colmes section, where Sean & Alan interview Resenbaum. Clips are also shown. You should see Hillary's reaction to Kerry's debate.

I'm sure Kerry allowed this because he thought he would come across as some kind of hero. Kind of like how he made movies of himself when he was in Viet Nam-he WAS in Viet nam , you know.

Well, surprise-surprise, he comes across as an idiot and suddenly everybody is shocked? All his staff needed to do was spend a day on FR and they would have learned what a dork he is.

'Journeys With George' was made during the 2000 campaign by Alexandra Pelosi (yep, Ma Pelosi's daughter) and while she wasn't sympathetic to his campaign, nor intended to vote for him, it's not a hatchet job at all and he comes across as a sincere, likable guy.

That's probably because he is a sincere, likable guy. :-)

I'd bet dollars to donuts that this film would have been a pro-Kerry puff piece IF Kerry had won...

Let's be honest - it is because he won. Film someone for hundreds of hours, and you can make anyone look either good or bad.

This movie will pound the wooden stake into the heart of Jean-Francois Kerry. Hillary has probably seen it 10 times already, shrieking with laughter.

Kerry's camapaign was so inept and his personality so pathetic that I am shocked any voted for him at all. The only things boosting his chances were the cheating at the polls and the mainstream press coverage.

Thanks again, Free Republic and bloggers, for providing the crucial difference in defeating Kerry. I read that Mapes is officially complaining about Buckhead and getting her facts wrong, as usual. She cannot grasp proportionate spacing!

That's consistent with what the person who gave it to me said. It just got put in the DVD cabinet and I completely forgot about it.

(The 60 Minutes exec. producer has often bragged that he could have easily edited the Bill and Hillary Superbowl interview so that Bill's viability as a candidate would have been effectively over. Since he liked Bill, he edited it in a favorable light.)

I don't think it's because he won. Pelosi did one on the 2004 dem primary and Kerry comes across as awful.

You're right it's in the editing, and if Pelosi wanted to do a hatchet job she would have, but she made a nice film about Dubya and an unflattering film about Kerry. And she is a Gore/Kerry voter. Go figure.
