License plate sought in case of missing teen, Taylor Behl

Police are searching for information on a stolen license plate that may be connected to the case of Taylor Marie Behl, the Virginia Commonwealth University freshman who disappeared on Labor Day. The personalized "GRN ERTH" Jamestown 400th Anniversary Virginia plate was stolen in Richmond about the time the 17-year-old disappeared, police said. "This plate may be connected to the Taylor Behl investigation," said Maj. Peggy Horn of the Richmond Police Department. "At this time, we need additional information to make a final determination." The person from whom the plate was stolen is not connected with the case, police said. Police, citing the ongoing investigation, refused to give further details on how this license plate is connected with the case or why they are looking for it. "We feel that giving any more information would be detrimental to the investigation," said Cynthia Price, a police spokeswoman.

How about taking prints from the license plate that was found on her car and prints from both cars.

GRN ERTH

Sadly ironic, since she's probably fertilizer by now.

This blog has various update stories on the right hand side:

This Times dispatch article says they are still looking at Fawley for this:

"law-enforcement source familiar with the case said the plate may have been in the possession of Ben Fawley, a 38-year-old amateur photographer and acquaintance of Behl's who was one of the last people to see her."

Also FYI-

A concert featuring some of Behl's friends and favorite musicians -- Shane Hines, The Brindley Brothers and The Echoes Band -- will be held in Vienna at Jammin' Java on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Proceeds will go toward the Friends of Taylor Behl reward fund, which currently stands at $14,000, said family attorney George Peterson.

VCU has also posted a $20,000 reward for information leading to Behl's whereabouts.

Don't hold your breath. We've been having break in's and theft in our neighborhood this past month and not one print has been taken.

I don't know those police and SWAT members that came to arrest Fawley looked pretty professional and serious.

It takes a real genius to steal a vanity plate such as that and actually try to put it on a vehicle. Just a hunch but it was probably stolen from the vicinity of the second "person of interest" (younger guy) but I doubt that it's connected. Some treehugger teenager probably wanted to put it on their bedroom wall.

That's an interesting theory.

I thought maybe Fawley tipped them to it since he is a license plate collector or possibly he remembered it from the night he was supposedly kidnapped or maybe the Ohio plates were put on her car and her plates were put on the GRN ERTH plated car, which would leave the GRN ERTH plates missing.

BTW, the skateboarder guy's name is Jesse Schulz. Now, we have a name.
