Chief Army spokesman Gen. Shaukat Sultan admitted, "We are not into a manhunt. ... Our sole objective is not the capture of bin Laden. Our objective is to root out terrorism and we have progressed quite a lot."
It is our judgment at the end of this long trip, ISI knows exactly where he is. Escorts near our final driving destination said bin Laden has a portable dialysis machine and generator and gerrycans of fuel and water.
Musharraf loyalists do not believe in the durability of a close alliance with the U.S. past the capture or killing of bin Laden. Hence, the reluctance to conduct a manhunt in the jagged mountain range that forms the unmarked frontier between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
If this is at all true, it is time we inform Musharraf that his remaining options are to prove he is our ally or find out exactly what the world's only superpower is capable of doing to his sh*thole of a country.

It would be nice - but at this point OBL's death would be just symbolic.
Get me Zarqawi's head! (or al-Sadr's)
I think we are probably very close to capturing or killing al Zarqawi.
Quite true.
but at this point OBL's death would be just symbolic.

No. The bastard killed 3000 Americans.
Justice is more than symbolic.
"Pakistani soldiers are foreign occupiers in FATA. By treaty, they have not been allowed to enter tribal areas since creation of Pakistan 58 years ago."
Explains difficulty in finding OBL.
you wanna know what my mom says? She says we should start in the Eastern side of Africa and work our way northwest and bomb every single Muslim country into parking lots! I think as more stories like these resurface I am really starting to agree with her. In WWII the civilians in occupied cities fled, which made it way easier to get the job done via plane, artillery and naval guns. Would be nice to level these stick huts and get it over with already.
Exactly!
OBL has been turned into the typical Muslim man-girl---a loud-speaking coward who hides behind the burkhas of others and has no guts to stand and fight like an American would.
Just like most other Islamic Fundamentalists, OBL is a weak-kneed coward

Don't underestimate the power of symbolism. OBL's death may be downplayed by the MSM and the Cindy Shehans of the world, but it would be a great blow to your average Ahkmed six pack on the street.
The death of OBL would also serve as a signal to lauch world wide terror attacks.
I want him dead. and politically, what percent of americans know who Zarqawi is? very few.
whatever attacks they could launch, they are (or will) launch when they can, where they can.
I know. I was just thinking out loud. It would be a big plus to get him.
There would be a bump from Osama's capture like we saw after the capture of Saddam with the president's numbers and I think it will last somewhat longer then the Saddam bounce (maybe 5-6 months).
I honestly can't say what response the US public would have to Zarqawi's death or capture. When he was injured in May the media talked about his possible impending death, but tried to say in every news report that the insurgency wouldn't be diminished and it could even be stronger after his death as more people would follow Zarqawi's example.
The real problem is I don't quite grasp what the public feels about Zarqawi, I can't tell if the public really gets how big a threat he is to the entire world and not just Iraq. There seems to be a vein of thought in the US that Zarqawi is an "insurgent" as the MSM would say so he is an Iraq only problem.
