Tom DeLay to make an appearance on Special Edition NOW!!
Humble.. this thread is not about you..."you're so vain I think you thought this thread was about you...*Carly Simon altered*
I keep reading down this thread and your threads are all about your likes and dislikes, on cable or not to cable, on faces that tell the story, on the absence of faces that tell the story..am so confused now. Count your "I"s..
(Sorry: this has been a fight_truth_decay "vanity" interruption)
If it matters, we're just having fun.
It ISN'T?
Dang, my bad.
Please return to worshipping the media.
lol
just funnin' ya..am in good spirits tonight
I don't worship the media. Worship is a powerful word I reserve for Him.
Yes, I've heard that Mr Limbaugh is very popular. ;-)
" Earle asked Hammer to allow him to ??investigate him?? for another 30 extra days and his Lawyers LET HIM!? "
As DeLay explained it to Britt- he was " extorted " by Earle to allow the extension.
Earle told him that if he didn't-he would definitely be indicted that day.
DeLay had already voluntarily met with Earle for over an hour- answering all his questions and defending his innocence.
He said he thought the extra time might be to his benefit-the more evidence he brought to Earle of his innocence, the better chance he had to clear his name.
Not so long ago, there was no such thing as a Republican office holder in Texas. Every state wide and local election was decided in the Democrat primary. The general election was an after thought. This was the case for 100 years following Reconstruction. There were several factions of Democrats who all hated one another, so "political enemies" in the same party were common place.
As a fanatic partisan, Ronnie Earle would go after his adversaries, even if they were fellow dims. Now it's different. Earle is only interested in abusing his office to attack Republicans. He knows he can't convict Delay, but he hopes to damage him nationally and make himself a hero to the dim nutjobs in the process.
Earle is a two bit political hack. He could not be elected to so much as dog catcher anywhere in Texas, except Austin.
I find it frightening that someone who has been on Free Republic for a couple of years does not know who Brit Hume is.
No wonder the main stream media still has such a disproportionate influence on people if even someone here has been relying on Dan Rather, etal, and daily newspapers.
That much is true. Tom DeLay said on H&C tonight that the GOP has been growing by leaps and bounds in Texas for the last 20 years or so. I suspect this indictment might also be connected to the remapping of the districts in Texas, which is also a bunch of baloney.
Jim Mattox was a Big Dem in Texas, but he made an enemy out of Ronnie Earle. There was a lot of infighting among the dems in Texas in those days. They had all the state offices. Thankfully, no more.
Jim was attorney general and supposed to have a big political future. He was a lock to be elected governor when Ann Richards double crossed him, broke a promise, and ran for governor and defeated him in the primaries.
Jim is a huge liberal, but (I think) a decent man. Ronnie had him indicted for particular hate reasons. The man (Earle) is entirely without a conscience.
Yes. It is in reprisal for Delay's effectiveness as a political leader. In the last election prior to redistricting, almost 60% of the vote for House cnadidates was for a Repub., but because of dim gerrymandering, the Texas delegation was mostly dims. When the new districts were drawn prior to the '04 elections, this was fixed and 6 new Repubs came into office. Earle and his pals just hate that.
You want a real story, check this out.
If you don't have cable, then quit your whinin'. If you don't want to watch, fine, save your money. But don't comment on people who do!
Dog and Pony! lol Which is which??? lol I LIKE Mary!
I tend to cast a cynical eye on one who literally and figuratively ,sleeps with the enemy.
