He is next in line --- now they're following the correct procedure.

I forgot to ping you to this! I don't know HOW I forgot you.
Slapped myself silly.

This is good news.

From redstate.org

According to a source on Capitol Hill, Majority Whip Roy Blunt has warmed significantly to Operation Offset and huddled with a group of RSC members yesterday in support of pushing many of their proposals to reign in federal spending. While the Medicare Rx benefit and the highway earmarks appear to be off the table, much seems to be on.
Blunt ought to be encouraged and praised for being the first member of Leadership to admit tacitly that his team screwed up by attacking the RSC and to commit seriously to finding specific offsets.

Oh wait, according to the malcontents here, unless the person as a 100% rating, then they're a RINO.

No kidding. The worst presence on FR are the petulant, immature, foot stomping one-issue types who brand anyone who doesn't agree with the 100% as a RINO.

The same people who refer to Senator McCain as a RINO (ACU Lifetime Rating of 83-84), are often the same to suggest that Harold Ford (ACU Lifetime of 17-19 or so) is an ok democrat they could 'live with.'

I have no idea what kind of strange, dark labyrinth their minds must be.

It's the flip side of the same coin as their counterparts in the dem party. Indeed, the rigid litmus test and demanding demeanor of their most liberal members has made them the party they are today.

I'd hate to see some singular minded types do that to the GOP. Then again, their defense would be that 'they could sleep at night,' as if their sleeping patters is of any importance to national interest.

Did you see this? Guess Drier didn't survive having his name floated ...

I sure hope they asked him, "Is there anything we need to know about you that could be an embarrasment if the media found out."

Back during the election students were asked who they preferred for Govenor. 60% went for Blunt. Reason? They said they liked his last name.

[I sure hope they asked him, "Is there anything we need to know about you that could be an embarrasment if the media found out."]

Just that he helped impeach Clinton as the Whip assigned to keep the Party backbenchers in line.

Though I'm all for DeLay beating this stinky suit, I wish Rep. Blunt nothing but the best. He is a real conservative and clean as a whistle. The Dems may have shot themselves in the foot once again.

Oh wow! Roy is so much better than Drier.

Drier would have fallen all over the dems and let them have whatever they want .. that's why they like him so much.

Roy is definitely a much better choice.

I sure hope so .. but Hastert is against it.

However, I think it's a winning issue for the repubs and leaves the dems without the "big spending" issue and the increased "deficit" issue.

They just need to bite the bullet and do it.

No offense to REAL Kalifornia Republicans, but I trust a Kalifornia Republican like I trust a North Eastern Republican.

Are you kidding the Cal Frepeers were the first one to say "NO!" to Dryer...

Dryer is a major kiss ass for the "Illegals" this is the same guy pick by John and Ken of KFI Los Angeles for "Political Human Sacrifice" to toss out of office to send a message to the party to get serious about stopping Illegal or lose grass root support....

Dryer had to be an all time politically tone deaf pick today to take over for DeLay that lucky for us some one high up in the party with some clout heard and stopped

Roy is relatively clean as a whistle. There are a couple of stunts the local (and state) dems try to pull - so watch for 'em. Those of us in SW Missouri know what they are.

If its any indication, he has won the district in like upper sixties, lower seventies for the past few years. We are very common sense, family values oriented folk (well, except for the university profs - but even the staff at msu are common sense people)..

Blunt is no RINO and he is close to Bush. He will push the Bush agenda.
